KWS BioTest is a contract research organisation, based in the Bristol area, undertaking drug discovery testing for a range of biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. The company is in a phase of expansion and requires at least one laboratory immunologist.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of a dynamic and flexible team which conducts a variety of laboratory techniques both as stand-alone studies and in support of experimental disease models. There will also be ample scope for the individual to take on projects, develop new assays and thereby expand the repertoire of expertise within the team
This role exists within our Cell Biology/Analytical Services teams, who develop and run a wide range of immunological assays using techniques such as culture of primary cells and cell lines, flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, and confocal microscopy. The post holder will gain experience of existing methods and will assist in the development of our continually-evolving range of techniques. The job will also involve making a contribution to routine laboratory duties, such as consumables ordering, preparing COSHH and risk assessment forms, and ensuring the cleanliness of the laboratory.
Prospective candidates should have a Master’s degree or PhD in Immunology and a good command of biomedical sciences in order to grasp the concepts required. An ideal candidate will also preferably have a good grasp of the drug discovery process and may have worked in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
